Pork Chop in Apple Maple Syrup Sauce

466

Coming home from work, tired, lazy…I know that feeling. Among my colleagues, I am one of the most hardworking ‘chefs’. Trying to cook almost every day to make sure I have lunch that I like, healthier and cheaper to eat every working day. Recently I discover this recipe, ready in 15mins, quick and easy. Perfect for a quick dinner after a long day of work. Even faster than ordering fast food.

To go along with this dish, I also cooked some rice and quickly stir fry some frozen vegetables (okay…I am cheating on this, you could also cook with fresh vegetables – it’s healthier!).

ApplePorkChopCollage

Make 2 portions

Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins

Ingredients:

  • 400 g pork chop
  • 60 mL Apple Cider/Apple Juice
  • 10 mL Cider Vinegar/Apple Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • Mixed Pepper
  • Salt
  • Chili powder

1. Mix the seasoning
Mix the pepper, salt, chili powder together in a small bowl.
2. Prepare the pork chop
Use the back of the knife or a meat mallet to pound the pork chop and make them more tender. Marinate the meat by putting the seasoning on both sides.
3. Cook the pork chop
Put the saucepan on the stove on medium-high heat. Drizzle a little bit of Olive Oil on the saucepan. When the oil is hot, put the pork chop into the pan. Cook for around 1.5-2 mins, flip to the other side, and cook for another 2 mins. Now put the Apple cider, vinegar and maple syrup into the pan. Cook until the sauce is thick or very little left. Close the fire and it’s ready!
